We all want to be successful, but not all of us are willing to do what it takes. That’s just a fact. If it wasn’t a fact, then there would be 98% of the world wealthy successful entrepreneurs as opposed to 2%. The world would be a super rich place. And that is regardless of age, gender, culture, education, religious beliefs, marital status or upbringing.
Just take a look at Dan Lok, Dan Pena, Joe Vitale, Felix Dennis and the list goes on. They were all poor and broke at one stage of their lives.
Why do you think that most of the population of the world are not wealthy? There must be a lot of answers but most certainly one of them is; A Fear of Failure but they overcame it. How does one overcome it? By facing it!
And all of us entrepreneur wannabees have this one thing in common. It is this reason alone that we either don’t even start or give up half way through.
Here is a little checklist put together by the one and only Felix Dennis, self-made multi-millionaire. If you are unable to measure up to at least ONE of these demands, then it is sure sign that you are doomed never to become wealthy. They all hook it to the fear of failure one way or another.
I highly recommend you read his bestseller book: How To Get Rich
It’s the raw, no BS truth list for all F.U. Millionaire Wannabees!
- If you are unwilling to fail publicly or even catastrophically, you stand little chance of ever getting rich.
- If you care what the neighbours think, you never get rich.
- If you cannot bear the thought of causing worry to your family, spouse or lover while you plough a lonely, dangerous road rather than taking the safe option of a regular job, you will never get rich.
- If you are not prepared to work longer hours than almost anyone you know, despite the jibes of colleagues and friends, you are unlikely to get rich.
- If you cannot convince yourself that you are ‘good enough’ to be rich, you will never be rich.
- If you cannot consider yourself that you are ‘good enough’ to be rich, then you will never be rich.
- And last but not least; if you cannot face up to your fear of failure, you will never be rich.
And knowing that the fear of failure is holding you back is a step in the right direction. But it isn’t enough because as we know too well, knowing isn’t doing.
But the good news is that the fear of failure is something can definitely be dealt with.
From our experience (and this is maybe not what you guys want to hear) but it’s the truth. The only way to conquer your fear of failure (of anything) is to face it straight on. Push yourself beyond your limits. Push yourself outside of your boundaries and your comfort zone.
You will know when you are growing and facing your fears because you will begin to feel uneasy, butterflies in the stomach, unrested, doubts will come, you will think of reasons to put off the project you need to finish or even start. Plus it will bring up stuff inside of you that will make you feel insecure and uncomfortable. This is all natural.
We are facing this almost DAILY.
For example: through our Podcast (we are afraid of making a mistake, sound like idiots or our content/value is not good enough, or that we sound boring, or we will get hate comments, or our family and friends will laugh at us, or we won’t get any ratings or reviews). Bottom line that’s called the fear of failure.
If your reason to becoming financially free is strong enough. The fear of failure will not hold you back. It will test you, almost daily but it should not hold you back. Reason comes first, results come second.
We really want this blog post to be of huge benefit to you. We know what it’s like. You are not alone in your fears. Just most people don’t admit them.
We don’t want to bore you to tears with philosophy but we would like to leave you with this quote from Martin Luther King;
Take the first step in faith. ‘’You don’t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.’’
We think this quote is suitable for what we just covered.
